Commission reminds dispensary owners to file $4,000 Stage 2 fee only once

Agency processing refunds for licensees who have mistakenly re-paid startup cost

Linthicum, MD (December 7, 2017) – The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission is reminding dispensary owners to file the Stage 2 fee of $4,000 only once. Some have been unnecessarily re-paying that fee when paying the annual $40,000 fee for dispensary owners.

The $4,000 fee is to be paid only when a dispensary applicant is initially at the Stage 2 phase of pursuing licensure. The $40,000 fee is the only annual fee for a dispensary owner to pay to the Commission.

Those who have overpaid will receive a refund from the Commission. Eight refunds are in process. There are 10 fully licensed dispensaries, and there are 92 pre-approved dispensaries pursuing full licensure.

Any dispensary owner who has overpaid should contact the Administrator Officer Adam Weber at the Commission at adam.weber@maryland.gov.
